Ministry of Hope
Christ the King Ministry of Hope, strives to live in the image of Jesus Christ who wept with those who mourned. We believe that in our faith community, no one should grieve alone. To that end we pray for and with each family that loses a loved one and attempt to bring comfort and consolation to all the bereaved. We help with the celebration of your loved one’s life through prayer, the mercy meal (reception), grief support and our annual Naming Service. The Ministry of hope is a two part ministry with assistance with funeral reception and grief support when called upon.
Volunteer for the Ministry of Hope
In a faith community, no one should grieve alone. The Bereavement Ministry is always looking for compassionate people to help with the bereaved. We are always looking for new members to help with funeral receptions. We are always in need of cooks, bakers and servers, volunteers are called upon on a rotation basis. If you are able to assist with any of these areas please contact Staci Duncan 904-733-7624 to sign up or further information.
"We are promised sufferings. They were part of the program. We were even told, 'Blessed are they that mourn', and I accept it. I've got nothing that I hadn't bargained for. Of course it is different when the thing happens to oneself, not to others, and in reality, not imagination." C. S. Lewis, A Grief Observed
