Usually one of the first people you see when coming to Mass is the usher who greets you upon arrival. They are also one of the last people you see as you leave the sanctuary and are handed the weekly bulletin. There are at least six ushers required at each Mass. More are needed for special occasions such as the Christmas and Easter holidays, and Holy Days of Obligation. Extra ushers are also needed for Confirmation and First Holy Communion.
Men and women who commit to this ministry are willing to attend the same Mass every week. They are requested to wear a navy blue jacket and to assist the celebrant as needed.
