CTK Advent Talks
Deacon George Barletta
Advent talks will be at 6:30 p.m. in Shirley David Hall:
Monday, November 25
Monday, December 2
Monday, December 9
Tuesday, December 17
Advent comes from the Latin "adventus," meaning "arrival" or "coming," particularly of something having great importance. Advent is a time of spiritual preparation for the birth of Jesus Christ as well as a time of celebration and penance.
We celebrate Advent, not only as a way of remembering Christ's first coming as a newborn child, but also for His continued presence with us today through the Holy Spirit, and in anticipation of His final return.
We have come to believe and appreciate the spiritual significance of Advent, and have begun to celebrate the season through reflection and joyful expectation.
In order to help you to prepare and participate in Advent, Deacon George will conduct Advent Spirituality talks in the Shirley David Hall.
Topics will include:
- Getting prepared for Advent.
- Prayer, contemplation and reflection.
- How Advent can make a difference.
- How do I find joy during and after Advent?
