The mission of Scouts BSA is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law.
Our Troop began over a hundred years ago. Troop 5’s original charter began at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church which is where Christ the King Parish also traces its roots. The CTK Scouts BSA serves girls and boy from Kindergarten through high school and beyond. We offer three of the five Scouting options, Cub Scout, Scouts BSA, and Venturing. We follow all Child Protection requirements of the Diocese of Saint Augustine in addition to all Youth Protection Rules required by Boy Scouts of America.
All of our Scout groups are extremely active, powered by passionate volunteers providing the support our youth needs to enjoy their adventures and advance through their requirements. Our youth are out on adventures about once a month, with a full week of camp each summer, and a biennial trip to the Appalachian Trail. Scouting activities include regularly scheduled meetings, weekend camp out, service projects, fundraising, and various Scouting activities throughout the community.
There is always room for new scouts!
SCOUT OATH
On my honor I will do my best to do my duty to God and my country and to obey the Scout Law; to help other people at all times; to keep myself physically strong, mentally awake, and morally straight.
SCOUT LAW
A Scout is
o Trustworthy
o Loyal
o Helpful
o Friendly
o Courteous
o Kind
o Obedient
o Cheerful
o Thrifty
o Brave
o Clean
o Reverent
The purpose of this organization shall be to promote, through organization, and cooperation with other agencies, the ability of boys and girls to do things for themselves and others, to train them in Scoutcraft, and to teach them patriotism, courage, self-reliance, and kindred virtues, using the methods which are now in common use by Cub Scouts and Scouts BSA. One of the goals of the Scouts BSA is to provide, through chartered organizations, a program for boys, girls, young men, and young women designed to encourage them to be faithful in their religious duties, build desirable qualities of character, train and involve them in the responsibilities of participating citizenship, and develop in them personal fitness.
Special emphasis will be placed in assisting the home, religious groups, and schools in achieving success in the development of abiding values in the lives of young people.
Pack and Troop 5 are always looking for new scouts!
